MS-Office 2003 Exercise Files

Installing Computer Prep Excercise Files

The following procedure will install the exercise files for all levels of
Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Insert CD into your drive.
  • A window will appear: MOS_03_Student (D:) (or whatever your CD-drive letter is).
  • Inside of this window there will be 3 folders. Open the Version 2.0 Module folder.
  • A list of all the MS-Office module folders will appear.
  • Open the folder for your particular class.

Example: for 9916: Excel Level 2 open the Excel_2003_Mod2_v2_Student_CD folder

(What we call "Level 2" they call "Module 2" or "Mod 2")

  • You will then see the WinZip Extractor window. Click on “UnZip”.
  • By default, the folder on the CD will be copied to:

C:\My Documents

NOTE: In Windows XP this is not the "My Documents" typically seen on the Desktop.
(You may choose a different subdirectory or copy these files elsewhere at a later time.)

  • When finished, WinZip displays the message:

(some number of) files unzipped successfully

  • Close the window for WinZip.
  • Close the Version 2.0 Modules window.
  • Open the Excel 2003 program.
  • Choose File, Open or the Open icon from the toolbar.
  • Navigate in the “Look In” box to:

C:\My Documents

  • You will see the new folder, which will contain all the exercise files.
