Course Materials
All Computer Center classes come with comprehensive materials that you keep at no extra charge. For the MS-Office courses (9910-9957) we use MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) approved materials from ComputerPREP.

CEU Credits
Continuing Education Units (CEU's) are awarded at the completion of all LLU Computer Center classes. Each participant receives a certificate. CPE

Software Compatibility
The LLU Computer Center is currently using MS-Office 2003 and Windows XP. If you are using other versions of these programs, most of what we do in these classes will be compatible with your version. For more information call 281-489-7944.

Registration Fees / Policies
In addition to the course fee there is a registration fee of $7 or $14. The $7 covers all registrations for 30 days from the time you register. $14 covers all registrations for a full year. 9900: Computer Orientation I—For New/Frustrated Computer Users
$59 (text included).

Testimonials

Endorsed by the Houston Area League of PC Users (HAL-PC).
Whatever your experience, you can become a confident, self-sufficient computer user once and for all. Most computer users, young and old, never properly learn the simple principles and concepts necessary to function effectively with a computer, as well as related technology such as digital cameras, PDAs, MP3 players, iPods, cell phones, etc. While they may get good at word processing and other applications, they struggle–often for years–with the most basic functions such as managing and attaching files, installing and configuring new software, the nuts and bolts of Windows and connecting to the rest of the world. It's not that any of this is difficult to understand, it's just that things are not what they appear to be: what you see on your monitor is a poor and unnecessarily complicated reflection of reality. The most important picture is the one in your head, not the one on your screen. Learn what you really need to manage a computer system, avoid and solve problems, reduce dependence on others, communicate effectively…and put those who have been intimidating you in their place! Class size: 5-30.
